AdventureSmith Advocates Eco-Consciousness

Make a green contribution by simply booking a global excursion and 100 trees will be planted thanks to you!

Disappearing gray whales, ocean deoxygenation, habitat destruction, toxic pollution… the environmental hit list goes on and on.  As travelers, in order to enjoy the riches of nature, we also need to help save the playground.  Thankfully, eco-conscious travel companies like AdventureSmith are setting an example in their efforts to leave small footprints and help keep nature and remote cultures intact.

To celebrate Earth Month, AdventureSmith will plant 100 trees for every guest that they book on one of their small ship cruise explorations from April 15 to May 15, 2010.

“Part of our mission is to give something back to the individuals, communities and environments encountered on each and every AdventureSmith Explorations journey. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day our goal is to plant more than 40,000 trees. Plus we will offer travelers a 5 percent discount on any 2010 adventure cruise or land adventure booked during this promotion,” said Todd Smith, founder and president of AdventureSmith Explorations.

They have partnered with Maryland-based nonprofit Trees for the Future for this program to make it easy to contribute something positive for Mother Earth.

Known for off-the-beaten path itineraries, AdventureSmith offers educational and impactful trips on small vessels, with erudite naturalists who follow sustainable practices.  Examples: Hike the cloud forests in Panama, kayak the sea of Cortez, sail to the remote coves of Hawaii on a 39-passenger yacht,  glide behind humpbacks in coastal waters of British Columbia, or explore the Alaskan backcountry while staying in luxe eco lodges.
