HOTEL BUZZ: Pinot paired with Putts at Iconic Kiawah Island Resort

The Ocean Course, Kiawah Resort

The Ocean Course, Kiawah Resort

Located on the barrier islands just miles from historic Charleston, Kiawah Island Golf Resort is arguably one of the nation’s top golf destinations and certainly South Carolina’s finest. A favorite with families, it’s earned this reputation thanks to exceptional golf and tennis facilities, wide open beaches, a luxe spa, and fine dining.

This month, dining steals the limelight as the resort readies a special culinary event. This is your chance to sip extraordinary wines and dine on a perfectly paired menu set along the beaches of Kiawah Island Golf Course for one night only at the “Winemaker’s Dinner with Anne Amie Vineyards” on January 29 at The Atlantic Room in The Ocean Course clubhouse.

Anne Amie Vineyards is known for their full-bodied Pinot Noirs, which are  crafted from fruits grown on the hillsides of Oregon. Winemaker Thomas Houseman will treat guests to a personal presentation and share his extensive knowledge of his wines, the  industry, and the art and science of winemaking.

The notable wines will be paired with a four-course dinner prepared by Chef de Cuisine, Jonathan Banta. Guests can enjoy fare such as lobster ceviche paired with a Pinot Gris and a Baba Au Rhum paired with a Müller Thurgau Icewine.   Dinner is $89 per person.

For reservations call: 843-266-4085.
