Set Sail Through The Panama Canal

Crystal Cruise in Panama

Crystal Cruises will sail through the historic canal in January and February 2011 before construction begins to modernize it, so get on board with special two-for-one rates!

The historic Panama Canal will undergo construction next year to expand the size of this engineering marvel that’s nearly a century old. Serving as a vital passageway between the Pacific and Atlantic, the canal with its complex lock system ushered its first ship through in 1914. For those interested in sailing through the original canal, one of the true engineering feats of the 20th century, Crystal Cruises will be one of the final luxury cruise ships that voyages through this storied place before it’s transformed and modernized to accommodate 21st shipping traffic.

Crystal Serenity will sail from Miami to Los Angeles on January 4, 2011, with calls in Grand Cayman, Cartagena, Huatulco, and Puerto Vallarta before docking in Los Angeles on January 17, 2011.  Crystal Symphony makes her first 2011 departure from Miami on February 23, 2011 with scheduled calls in Tortola, St. Barts, St. Martin, and Aruba before passing through the Panama Canal and disembarking passengers in Caldera, Costa Rica.

Panama Canal sailings fares start at $3485 per person for double occupancy with special 2-for-1 rates, free economy or business class airfare and a $1000/per couple ‘All Inclusive – As You Wish’ onboard credit.

Bon Voyage!
