HOTEL BUZZ: THE B.O.G. Hotel Opens in BOGOTA, Colombia

Bogota’s newest design hotel has quickly become the hippest hangout in Colombia’s capital.

Bogota continues to lure travelers with its cultural attractions and exciting nightlife. Located in the city’s desirable North neighborhood, the recently opened B.O.G. Hotel offers style-savvy explorers luxurious yet delightfully quirky accommodations with an ideal location for venturing out for local sightseeing. The lavish interiors, created by award-winning Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva, include elements of gold and emerald – some of Colombia’s biggest exports. From the honeycombed ceilings in the restaurant, to caramel-colored wooden floors and barely-green tiles in the 55 rooms and suites, Silva has created an inviting space that is simple yet attends to every comfort, including soundproofed windows, 500-thread linens and bathroom products and scents that have been exclusively designed for the hotel. After a day discovering the vibrant surroundings, the rooftop’s heated swimming pool offers a welcome respite, with views over the city. The hotel is also the first property in Colombia to win acceptance to the prestigious Design Hotels global collection of luxury design-driven hotels.

Chef Leonor Espinosa heads up Restaurant La Leo, which prides itself on protecting traditional recipes – such as ajiaco, a chicken and corn soup served with rice and salad – and creating fusion dishes that blend cross-cultural flavors.

Rates start from US$260 and rooms are available to book here.
